Busy Weekend

This weekend was jam packed with excitement! On Thursday night, the Weenies had a mixer with the Rookies. The theme was graffiti - everyone wears a white t-shirt and sharpies and you sign everyone's shirts! Aly and I didn't have white t-shirts and did not want to get written on so we just wore cute clothes! On Friday night, the Weenies had to drive the Actives and their dates to and from Boat Party on Lake Travis. After we dropped them off, we all went to eat at the Oasis. It had the best view of the sunset ever! Afterwards, we picked them up and drove the winding road home. On Saturday, it was Parents' Day! Momma came into town and I showed her around Austin. We ate at HopDoddy, shopped at Uncommon Objects, and explored South Congress. Then we went with all the Spirits on a Duck Tour around Austin - the bus turns into a boat and goes in the water! Afterwards, we shopped at the Domain and had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. It was a super fun weekend, and only two more weeks until summer!

Skinny Spud Potato Chips

In advertising class, we were assigned a project where we had to create a new brand of healthy and all natural potato chips, come up with a chip bag design, and create a print ad for the chips. I titled my chips Skinny Spud Potato Chips. My slogan that I featured on the print ad was "Feast Fearlessly." I drew the bag design and print ad myself. Hopefully, I get a good grade!

Austin Zoo

Today we did our Weenie Service project at the Austin Zoo! Danielle organized it all and we all got to do a lot of different (and sometimes gross!) tasks. I started the day by cutting up kiwis, oranges, honeydew, apples, plums, strawberries, and bananas for the monkeys to eat. Then Doha, Michelle, Morgan, Allison, and I all went to play with this bird in the animal hospice part of the zoo. It was so funny and could even talk! Peacocks walk freely at the Austin Zoo so we all wanted to get a picture with them with their feathers frayed out! We got to feed animals towards the end of the trip. I feed deer and bathed a llama! It was pretty fun for a service project and I had a great time hanging out with all my Spring '12 Weenies.

Weenie Roast

This past Friday was Weenie Roast! For this event, all the Weenies and the Spirit Haunts traveled to Pace Bend, which is about an hour out of Austin, for a camp out. We pitched tents (they fell over later), grilled hot dogs (on our small grill), and made s'mores (while trying not to turn out hands). It was a really fun bonding experience. We were all scared that the JI's were going to come scare us but it never happened and we just spent the whole night paranoid. We finally went to bed around 2:30 am. We didn't get to sleep long though because some girls had to go to the Longhorn Run the next time. So we all woke up at 5:30 am and somehow cleaned up the campsite, took down the tents, and packed everything up before sunrise. It was definitely a struggle, but lots of fun!

Rush Photo Shoot

This past weekend, Olivia and I were both in Dallas for Easter break. We got together to take pictures for our Rush information packets at the Farmers Branch Historical Park. I taught Olivia how to shoot manually on my Canon Rebel. She got pretty good at it! I love portrait photography so I had a really fun time taking Olivia's pictures and posing for pictures myself. Fortunately, a lady was walking her dog and offered to take a picture of Olivia and me together. We were so thankful...until we realized she did not know how to shoot manually! I tried to set the aperture, shutter speed, and focus for her and her shots turned out okay. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot!

Anthropologie

Last Thursay, I had a photo group assignment due for photography. I chose to go to Anthropologie at the Domain to take pictures. I found so many cute things to take pictures of! I can't wait until I get my apartment for next school year. Everything is going to be from Anthropologie! Here are some of my favorite things and pictures from the store.

Round Up

This past weekend was Round Up, a notorious weekend full of frat boys, concerts, crawfish boils, parties, and lots of neon clothing. Lots of guests from other colleges come into town to visit and party. Olivia, Shelby, Oliver, and about 5 other people came to stay with us. We started the weekend off on Thursday night by going downtown to Sixth Street to the Sig Ep bar tab at The Stage. We saw so many Ursuline girls! On Friday evening, we went to dinner at Chuy's and then put on our neon tanks and fanny packs to go to frat parties. Saturday we all woke up early and went to Tri Delt/Cowboys Cookout to support Natalie. Then we all went Sig Ep where they have Slip n Slides, a crawfish boil, and an ice cream truck! We skipped the Sammy Adams concert at Sigma Chi and took a break midway through the day. We went out again later that night to a foam party at Sig Ep. It was fun dancing in the suds! I took so many pictures over the weekend but here are some of my favorites!
